MASTER PLAN LỚP 3 - NIÊN KHÓA 2026 - 2027
Giáo viên chủ nhiệm: Đỗ Anh Minh Ngày bắt đầu: 09/03/2026 Địa điểm: Hội An, Việt Nam
Block 1: Creation Myths (3 Weeks)
Time: 3.5 weeks (09/03/2026 - 01/04/2026)
- Focus: Transitioning from the dreamlike consciousness of early childhood to a grounded awareness of the world’s origins.
- Content: Stories of how the world, the elements, and humanity were formed. Integration of Việt Huyền Sử Ký narratives, exploring the separation of Heaven and Earth and the emergence of the first physical forms.
Block 2: The Alchemy of Cooking (2 Weeks)
Time: 30/03/2026 - 15/04/2026
- Focus: Transformation through fire and water.
- Content: Understanding the journey from raw ingredients to nourishment. Students learn the properties of grains, the science of heat, and the cultural importance of communal meals. This block bridges the gap between the "Mythical" and the "Practical."
Block 3: Dynamic Symmetry (Form Drawing)
Time: 16/04/2026 - 27/04/2026
Focus: Mirroring and interlacing patterns. This block focuses on vertical and horizontal symmetry, requiring the child to find their own "center" on the page. The drawings transition from free-flowing curves to more structured, rhythmic patterns that prepare the hand for cursive and the mind for geometry.
📅 SPRING BREAK & HOLIDAYS (27/04 - 10/05/2026)
- 2 weeks (Including holidays 30/4 & 1/5).
Block 4: Jungle Journey (Local Botany & Ecology)
Time: 1 week (11/05 - 17/05/2026)
Focus: An immersive exploration of the Central Vietnamese landscape. Students identify local flora, understand the layers of the tropical canopy, and observe the biodiversity of the nearby Tra Que gardens and surrounding jungle foothills. It serves as a sensory introduction to environmental stewardship.
Block 5: The Measure of All Things (Measurement)
Time: 3 weeks (18/05 - 07/06/2026)
Focus: Historically, measurement began with the human body. Students use "cubits," "spans," and "paces" before transitioning to the metric system. They apply these skills by measuring the classroom, the garden plots, and the height of the bamboo poles intended for construction.
Block 6: Shelter & Strength (House Building)
Time: 4 weeks (08/06 - 05/07/2026)
Focus: The quintessential Grade 3 block. Students study the architecture of the traditional Vietnamese tube house and the mechanics of bamboo joinery. This culminates in a physical project—building a small-scale structure or a functional garden shelter—teaching the child how to provide for their own physical security on Earth.
Block 7: The Harmony of Spheres (Music Theory)
Time: 3 weeks (06/07 - 26/07/2026)
Focus: Moving from pentatonic to the heptatonic scale. Students are introduced to formal notation, time signatures, and the reading of staff music. There is a specific focus on the rhythmic patterns of local folk songs (Dân ca), grounding mathematical theory in cultural sound.
📅 SUMMER BREAK & HOLIDAYS (27/07 - 06/09/2026)
- 6 weeks break. Including National Day (2/9).
Block 8: The Cycle of Rice (Farming & Agriculture)
Time: 3 weeks (07/09 - 27/09/2026)
Focus: Following the seasonal "Wet Rice" calendar. Students participate in the actual labor of the fields: tilling, transplanting seedlings into the mud, and understanding the irrigation systems of the Mekong and Central Coast. This block emphasizes the connection between human effort and the Earth’s seasonal breath.
Main Lesson Block 9: The Great Cycle – Time & The Lunar Calendar (3 Weeks)
Time: (28/09 - 18/10/2026)
Theme: Aligning human life with celestial rhythms.
Content: The 24 solar terms, the phases of the moon, the 12 zodiac animals, and how the Lunar Calendar dictates the agricultural year in Hoi An.
Activity: Creating a circular calendar; tracking moon phases; calculating the dates of the next Tet holiday and seasonal festivals.
Block 10: The Architecture of Language – Grammar (2 Weeks)
Time: (19/10 - 01/11/2026)
Theme: The mechanics of communication.
Content: Identifying parts of speech (naming words, doing words, describing words); the "personality" of the sentence; punctuation as a boundary.
Activity: Writing original compositions based on the Building and Farming experiences; sentence diagramming using artistic imagery.
📅 AUTUMN BREAK (02/11 - 15/11/2026)
- Time to avoid storms and floods in Central Vietnam. Students rest at home.
Block 11: Value & Exchange – Money (3 Weeks)
Time: 16/11 - 06/12/2026
Theme: Practical interaction and social responsibility.
Content: History of barter and currency; basic mental math in trade; the concept of profit, loss, and fair exchange.
Activity: Running a "class market" selling garden produce or handmade crafts; calculating costs for building materials.
Block 12: Traditional Crafts, Fibers & Heritage (5 Weeks)
Time: 07/12/2026 - 10/01/2027
Focus: A deep immersion into the ancestral "making" culture of Central Vietnam, bridging the transition from raw natural materials to refined human artifacts. Students explore the lifecycle of textiles—tracing the journey of silk and cotton from plant and cocoon to the looms of local weavers—while mastering natural dyeing techniques using indigenous plants. The journey extends into the earth and wood of Hoi An, involving hands-on apprenticeship at the Thanh Hà pottery village to understand the transformation of clay, and visits to woodworking or lantern workshops. This block integrates practical math through currency and trade at the markets, fine motor development through sewing, weaving, and carving, and a soulful connection to local heritage as students create functional items and traditional lanterns to prepare for the coming Tet season.
Block 13: Year-End Review & Community Feast (2 Weeks)
Time: 11/01 - 24/01/2027
Focus: A synthesis of the year's labor. Students prepare a meal using the measurement and cooking skills learned, hosted within or near the structures they built. This block closes the year by celebrating the child's new role as a capable, earthly inhabitant.
